Six o’clock Prayers
Every Tuesday at 6pm a small group of people meet in St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church. Our purpose is to pray for the community of Barnby Dun – to pray for you.
We pray specifically for people who are sick or bereaved or facing other difficulties in life. We give thanks, too, for good things that have happened – such as the birth of a child. We also pray for each road in Barnby Dun in turn.
If you would like us to pray for you or someone close to you, please let us know
- ▪ contact Revd Jan Foden on 882835, or drop a note through the Vicarage door
- ▪ pass a message via any church member
- ▪ write the first name of the person on a slip of paper and put it in one of the prayer boxes in the village
We follow a very simple service, light candles to help us focus our prayers, and listen to quiet music. We always finish by 6.30pm. You are welcome to join us.
Prayer Boxes
At the moment there is a box inside the Post Office on Stainforth Road. There will soon be one in the Old School, and hopefully in other places around the village.
Please put the first names of those you wish to pray for on slips of paper and put them in the boxes. These will be collected regularly – and people prayed for.

St Peter's and St Paul's Barnby Dun bell ringers
Would you like to become part of a team?
Are you looking for an unusual hobby?
Do you have few hours a week to spare?
Bells are sometimes rung before the services on Sunday.
Bells are also rung for Civic & National events & for Weddings.
Practice night is once a week.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given
